Eve and her best friend Adam are the sole witnesses to a mysterious fog that obliterates a Walmart. Although Eve wants to forget the horror of that night and get on with her life as a high school junior, Walmart is the first of many disappearances, which also include McDonalds, Hummers, and coalmines. Reluctantly, Eve joins Adam to follow the mist to it source. The mist leads them to Mother Nature, who puts Adam and Eve on a ludicrous quest to save human civilization from itself.
If that weren’t enough, when Eve finds out Adam has a thing for her, her insistence they remain friends crushes him. While Eve dates her dream guy, a sophomore named Ashley pursues Adam. Eve realizes dating her boyfriend means having to change who she is and what she stands for, so she dumps him. Instead of the breakup easing tension between Adam and Eve, he still wants nothing to do with her. Despite their deadlock, Mother Nature forces Adam and Eve to work together to save the world. Eve must find her inner-moxie to rise to these challenges. But a betrayal by a Harvard professor may make their chances impossible. To top it all, Mother Nature leaves Eve to wrestle with her feelings about Adam or she may lose him forever, even if the world can be saved.
